Clerk advised a freedom of information act request has been submitted to Powys CC Housing Department and a letter has been sent to Powys Dyfed Police regarding Police provisioning in Llanfyllin.

Cllr P Lewis reported good feedback on VE Day celebrations. It was agreed that the Beacon will stay in place until after VJ Day and will then be removed and placed in storage.
Llanfyllin Depot have 4 extra staff to provide short term support for road maintenance issues.
Cllr P Lewis advised that William Powell, who represents the Talgarth ward, was elected chair at Powys County Council
AGM on Thursday, May 15, succeeding Cllr Jonathan Wilkinson, local member for Llangyniew and Meifod ward.

SP Power Networks: Some land registry issues have been highlighted in respect of the proposed siting of the new sub-station and EV charging points on the Car Park. Clerk will continue to work with all parties to resolve issues and report back at the next meeting.
Negative feedback regarding the benches on the Square. Cllr Cowham, working with the ground’s maintenance contractor has relocated planters and benches to resolve concerns.
Councillors reported residents' concerns about restricted pavement access caused by street furniture between Crosskeys and the Bistro Fish & Chip Shop. The area has become overcrowded, making it difficult and intimidating for wheelchair and buggy users, often forcing them to cross a busy road. Cllr A Griffin will contact business owners to request the removal of some furniture, and the Town Clerk will review pavement license requirements.

Rubbish is becoming an issue across the town; Car Park, Cae Bodfach and Wetlands bins regularly overflowing; large number of bottles and cans which could be recycled. Councillors RESOLVED to replace the Recycling Bin on the Square with a new design and relocate it to the back of the square. The current one is to be considered for refurbishment and relocated to the entrance to Cae Bodfach. More regular collections for both general bins and dog waste bins are required in the summer months, once a week is not proving to be sufficient. Cllr P Lewis to discuss with James Thomson.
Some of the Street Furniture needs to be repainted, repaired or replaced. Councillors agreed to explore the options for these. Cllr S Cowham to create a list of those that need to be addressed with costings.

Noticeboard was taken down at the request of the building owner to allow maintenance work to be undertaken. Cllr S Cowham recommend that we take the opportunity to refurbish it and recommended relocating it when complete.

No planning items to discuss. Clerk to send planning decision notices to all Councillors for awareness.

a) VE Day – Good feedback received. All agreed it was a good building block for future events.
b) St Myllins Day (7th June). Managed by Arts Connection. Town Council will have a general ‘stall’ giving residents an opportunity to discuss any issues with Councillors directly – this needs to be manned during the day with each Councillor requested to cover so it is not left to one or two.
c) VJ Day : Royal British Legion would like to be involved. Cllr A Williams suggested inviting the Gurkhas to give a presentation. Details to be discussed at June meeting.

A few more delays encountered but proceeding slowly. Lease has been signed with Powys CC. Contracts have been reviewed, awaiting approval from Cycling Wales. When agreed, Town Council will invoice Cycling Wales for the grant value. Agreed that a collaboration agreement would be put in place with Llanfyllin Community Initiative who will manage day to day operations.
